PWA Worldtour

As part of the PWA Worldtour, our trip took us to Pozo Izquierdo on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria. Over a period of nine days we produced high quality short form content for JAKLAR and a commercial for Blackroll.

Short-form content is short form content optimised for quick consumption on social media platforms. The content is characterised by its brevity and is primarily used in the form of concise social media posts, fleeting stories or short videos that quickly attract attention. Consumers expect more, faster and better, and this is made possible by strategically planned production.

the event

The 9 day event made our windsurfing hearts beat faster, we would have loved to get out on the water ourselves but filming the pros was extremely exciting. We filmed live during the sessions and edited some videos together to give viewers a summary of the day on social media. In previous years we have watched the PWA World Tour from home, but in 2023 we were there live.
We filmed the athletes on the water, but also when they took a break in the Blackroll Relax tent. We were also provided with camera equipment by Lumix, which was an incredible opportunity for us to film the athletes on the water, but also when they took a break in the Blackroll Relax tent. We were also provided with camera equipment by Lumix, which was an incredible opportunity for us.

the challenge

As well as steep beaches and glorious sunshine, the Spanish island also boasts wind speeds of up to 50 knots. Extreme conditions require extreme measures. We responded well to the flying sand, splashing water and strong winds and did not let them affect us negatively. Our qualifications helped us to perform exceptionally well on this project.

conclusion

Taking part in the PWA World Tour was an unforgettable experience, especially the opportunity to film windsurfers in different disciplines. It was breathtaking to see world class athletes displaying their skills on the water. The variety of disciplines, from freestyle to wave to slalom, provided a fascinating insight into the versatility of windsurfing.

Filming the windsurfers in action was a real privilege. It was possible to capture the incredible speed, grace and skill of these athletes. The intensity of the competition, the energy of the athletes and the beauty of the sport was palpable at every moment.

It was also inspiring to see the passion and dedication with which the windsurfers practise their sport. Their mastery of the waves, their acrobatic skills and their quest for excellence were impressive and a source of motivation for all those who love the sport.

The PWA World Tour was not only a stage for sporting excellence, but also a platform to experience and share the beauty and fascination of windsurfing with other enthusiasts. It was an honour to be there as a filmmaker and capture these moments in all their glory.
